SOTI connects with renowned electronic musician CTAFAD (A.K.A. Sun Dawei / Sulumi) to release his new EP "Sparse".

"Sparse" integrates the rhythmic language of minimal techno and a laboratory soundscape to speak to natural science. It explores human perception and intervention in nature and the universe. The meticulous, rapid percussive elements break through a minimal soundscape rich in mystery and suspense, corresponding to the calculations made with the detailed data in optics, physics and astronomy. The atmosphere is composed of psychedelic elements throughout the EP, forming a unique Sci-Fi short film in the listener's imagination.

CTAFAD is a solo music project launched by electronic musician, guitarist and composer Sun Dawei a few years ago. In 2003, he made his debut under the name "Sulumi" with the release of "Air Inhibition Of Water" (ModernSky). His label "Shanshui Records" at the time became one of the few places for underground electronic musicians to gather. He is known as "the Top Chinese 8-bit artist and his career has spanned periods of rock, punk, 8bit, IDM and Ambient. And now, under the name CTAFAD, he is bringing techno music to a his own, new dimension.

《疏间 Sparse》集成minimal techno的节奏语言和一种实验室声场，与自然科学对话，探索人类对于自然和宇宙的认知与干预。缜密、急促的打击元素冲破富有神秘感和悬疑感的极简声景，对应光学、物理和天文学中多种微观数据的计算，由迷幻元素构成的氛围贯穿，《疏间 Sparse》在听者的想象力中形成了一部独特的Sci-Fi短片。

CTAFAD是电子音乐人、吉他手、作曲家孙大威几年前推出的个人音乐计划。孙大威涉猎 Fashion Show、电影、话剧、广告配乐等领域，也曾为脑浊、新裤子、嘎调、Eel、Jeans Team、Snoop Lion、Kid606 和 Zaliva-D制作Remix作品。2003年，他首次以「Sulumi」的名义在出版专辑《Air Inhibition Of Water/水的空气阻滞》（摩登天空），他建立的个人音乐厂牌“山水唱片 Shanshui Records”也成为了当时为数不多的地下电子音乐人的聚集地。孙大威被誉为“中国 8 bit 第一人”，他的创作生涯经历过摇滚、朋克、8bit、IDM、Ambient几个时期，现在重新以CTAFAD的名义，把Techno音乐带到属于他的新维度。
